A New Era of Digital Banking in Pakistan

Roshan Digital Account is a flagship initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan, in collaboration with commercial banks operating in Pakistan. These accounts provide secure and innovative banking solutions for Non-Resident Pakistanis (NRPs), foreign nationals, and eligible overseas entities and businesses, enabling them to undertake banking, payment, trade, and investment activities in Pakistan through a fully digital platform.

For the first time in Pakistan’s history, customers across the globe are provided the opportunity to remotely open and operate accounts in Pakistan through an entirely digital and online process without the need to visit a bank branch. Opening an account requires only a basic set of information and documents, and banks are mandated to complete all necessary customer due diligence within 48 hours, subject to regulatory requirements and document verification.

With the expansion of the Roshan Digital Account framework, customers can now open individual, joint, and business (entity) accounts, facilitating seamless financial access for professionals, entrepreneurs, investors, and foreign nationals seeking to engage with Pakistan’s financial ecosystem.
