Department Head, Currency Management, Retail Banking Group

JOB Description

This position will ensure that an effective network of CPCs is established across the Bank to facilitate PKR & FCY currency supply & demand management for all branches of the bank in line with SBP’s currency management strategy. Accordingly, will develop team, infrastructure and SOPs those will enable optimal CIH management with efficient resource management and stringent regulatory compliance.

To ensure that all CPC are operating in compliance with SBP’s regulatory guidelines conveyed through currency management strategy as well as other applicable regulations to avoid exceptions and associated penal actions.
Maintain close liaison with SBP/NBP for smooth disposal of surplus cash held with CPCs making it available to treasury for investment.
Develop & implement monitoring mechanism to ensure that all CPCs are working as per defined guidelines covering applicable operational risks related to CIH levels, insurance, security and financial controls.
To have effective vendor management process to obtain optimal services from all vendors related to CPCs such as CIT Companies, Equipment suppliers, outsourced human resource providers etc. to manage all such contracts and timely revision/renewal of these.
Training of all CPC & Branch staff for efficient and effective cash handling in line with regulatory guidelines and bank’s SOPs.
Random Monitoring of SBP’s regulatory compliance at MCB counters & ATMs through CPC team and sharing results with respective AHs and RHs of Retail Banking Services Group.

Experience & Skills

15 years with 8 years experience in the similar role

Knowledge and Skills

Conversant with the SBP’s Cash Management Policy
Thorough knowledge of branch banking/CPC operations
Thorough knowledge of banking practices & procedures

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor Degree

Job Location

Based in Lahore but will be required to travel across the country
